Lake 1 - The Day Ticket
Welcome to Selby 3 lakes day ticket fishery - lake 1.The lake is 5 acres in size with depths up to 18ft in some places. The fishery is open to Carp, Pike and coarse anglers. The lake contains Carp up 27lb with a few of them 20ts and loads of doubles to back them up. The average size of the carp is around 13lb to 19lb.
The lake is also full of Bream, Roach and Tench for the coarse angler and Pike up to 26lb for the predator angler. Predator angling is only allowed between October 1st and march 15th and there is more information on the predator page.
The carp fishing
The carp respond to all the usual tactics such as Boilies, Zigs, Spodding, Floaters, Stalking, Pop ups ect..
These fish like good quality food boilies so don't go shy on the bait front and i know they do get through plenty of Sticky baits vortex and bloodworm, Nutrabaits Big fish Mix with cranberry, Carp company icelandic red, DNA, and mainline cell boilies throughout a season.
Ask Roger or the bailiffs about bait if needed, or you can ask roger if you are booking a session on the phone about bait . They also like a bright popup at any time of the year.
The lake has depths down to 18ft in places and up to 3ft on top of some of the bars.
There are plenty of features to fish to such as pads, bars, margins and the spit and they all produce fish. The carp feed day and night with the 3am to 11am period being very good.
If you need any advice when fishing you can always ask either Roger. or one of the Bailiffs - Steve Head or Billy Head.
Coarse Fishing
The lake is full of coarse fish with lots of Roach, bream,Tench and Perch. These fall to all methods but it is usually best to fish close to the pads for the bream and tench and float fish for the roach and perch at all depths.
One of the most neglected methods is floater fishing for the carp and bream in the warmer months and this method produces many bream over the 5lb mark. Please be sure any fish you catch on these warm days is held in the water till they are strong enough to swim off on their own.
We also take Match/club bookings during the colder months.
